The Cirque de Mourèze is a curiosity of the region. It is a dolomitic site of 340 Ha, where erosion has shaped a ruiniform landscape. Formerly inhabited by prehistoric men, then by coal miners and shepherds, it is now only visited by tourists. The oddly shaped rocks are named: the Sphynx, the Guardian, the Oracle, the Bear and the Shepherd, the Blast Furnaces, the Cerberus, the Watcher’s Tower, the Breach Tower, the Chicken Coop Tower…
